      I'm so glad you found this helpful! Fluency comes from practice, practice, practice! Personalize each card in the deck. Give each one a story about something that made it a 7 of Swords moment, or a 3 of cups moment, or a run in you had with a female boss that made it a Queen of Swords moment. These will stick in your brain. And when you need to craft a story out of the cards, being able to share examples will give you that fluency. Good luck to you. Lynn XXOO

      Hello Maureen, thank you so much for your kind words. First, #7 in its mainstream definition is supposed to be YOU. I believe it's meant to mean who the querent is at this time, and what they bring to the situation or how they see the situation from their perspective. What made more sense to me was this. Card #5 tells us what's on your mind. If the querent has a problem, I'm sure they have already given it a lot of thought or they wouldn't have asked for a reading. They have probably contemplated how it started, who's to blame for it, and various scenarios on how they would like to handle it. Now let's say that #7 is the 8 of Cups. Walking away from problems is either a learned response - something they saw their parents do, or they discovered it on their own and saw that it works. So now, it's their #1 go-to response whenever the heat is turned up. IN THIS SITUATION, is that the right response? Or will it make the current problem worse? Or will it simply leave it unresolved, only to repeat itself at a later date? Over many many readings, I discovered that the querent's knee jerk reaction to the problem wasn't necessarily a healthy one. That's how I came to modifying #7. "How can you make it worse?" Or, "how can you sabotage your own best efforts to resolve the situation." Since I don't use reversals, I needed a position that showed the "other side" or the shadow side of the situation moving forward, and #7 happened to work best for me.
      So what is the shadow side of the Knight of Swords moving forward? Every card has one. To me, it would be rushing to judgment without any forethought. And I have found that combining #3 (what started this whole thing) with #7, will often explain where their anticipated reaction stems from.
      Draw the spread layout on a piece of paper, fill in the description for each position, and run through the storyline without any cards. Make up a few stories and see if the progression makes sense to you. If you move from one card to the next and think to yourself, "wait a minute! there's a hole or a gap in the story here!", that's where you may want to modify it to make sense to you. Anyway, I hope that helps. Thanks so much for watching. I'm currently working on more Celtic Cross videos. Stay tuned... Lynn 💖💖

      Hi Lynn
      This is an amazing response. so helpful. I can see now connecting the 3&7 will help enormously. Your definition of the Kn of Swords negatively absolutely perfect, I don't work with reversals so not much negativity in my readings, by the way, I only read for family and friends so I'm not put to the test very much, as I know quite a bit about their lives. I am now taking your advice and practicing without a question and make it a story. I can't thank-you enough.
      I wish you peace and happiness
      Thank-you again I'll definitely be with you going forward.

      Thank you very much! I use position #9 as advice from spirit. I consulted my journal for some good tidbits to provide to you as "advice", but I love everything I've written or collected, so here it is! Take what works; leave the rest! Lynn 💖💖
      Ten of Swords:
      This is a forced ending; something we can't salvage. The good news: It’s over!
      Remember, this card represents the element of air - it’s more mental than anything. So when this card comes up, it represents analyzing everything to death; obsessing over things out of our control; being melodramatic; fatalistic. It’s more of a reaction to the problem than the problem itself.
      You my be feeling like the world is coming to an end...but it’s not. You are just emotionally, physically and spiritually exhausted. Sometimes it's simply a sign of burn out. This too shall pass.
      Sometimes, it can mean being stabbed in the back, sabotaged or betrayed. But if you think about it, how many swords does it take to be killed? 10 is overkill. It’s melodrama.
      It can be the results or consequences of our past actions. Remember, the universe keeps perfect score. This could very well be our comeuppance. With any luck, an extreme turn of events might act as a pressure relief valve. It’s best to lay low until the drama or trauma plays out.
      Accept defeat. You've lost. Wave the white flag. At this point, you are no longer obligated to stay and fight. This scene represents the necessary hitting rock bottom before we can face our problems and turn our life around.

      It can mean the end of a relationship; the loss of power; the collapse of a business; the loss of your independence. You may be overly attached to the outcome. It’s a do or die situation.
      If this is about a relationship: Run! There is nothing redeemable here! A traumatic divorce or negative experience of the past is pinning you down in the present.
      Something about the love situation you are in is not quite right. Start asking questions, accept reality, don‘t close your eyes to the truth. You cannot force someone to love you or to behave respectfully. If you have recently met someone new (and are looking for love,) keep looking. The contenders you‘ve met so far are not who they seem to be.

      The appearance of this card may signal that your work situation is about to come to an end. Your best bet is to get your ducks in a row and think through what you will do if you do indeed lose your job, for any reason. You may have been treated badly by someone. Don‘t waste your time and precious energy plotting revenge. Just get on with the next phase of your life. If you‘re looking for work, a potential position that you‘d pinned your hopes on may not come through. Above all, don‘t give up. Bottom of the food chain at work? Do you lack personal satisfaction as you are fulfilling someone else’s purpose?
      If money has taken a downturn for you, or someone you trusted has not come through, be careful not to beat yourself up. This is not the end of the world. Try to think logically and rationally. What now?
      And my favorite piece of advice...Choose NOT to be a martyr! .

      @askdevinecentral I think people put too much fear in trying things they are not used to, or believe to be difficult. Take sewin for instance, Not a lot of people like to do curves because it seems complicated. However, in reality it is just a straight line, but you just have to turn the fabric. It's all about perception.

    Do the cards point to what “is” or what “needs to be”? How do I know if a card is clarifying what is happening or if it is rather signifying what needs to be created/paid attention to, etc.? Hopefully this question makes sense. Thank you!

    • @askdevinecentral
      @askdevinecentral  Месяц назад +4

      Hello Danielle! Thanks for watching! I am a positional reader. I want all the help I can get from Spirit, and I believe the best way to get it is to set very clear intentions on the positions - whether it's a Celtic Cross or a 3 card spread. Second, have clear intentions with the meanings of your cards, too. This way, when Spirit wants to get a specific message to you they know exactly what cards to put where. Then you set it all aside and go with the first thing that crosses your mind. I call those intuitive hits.
      One reason why I'm so partial to the Celtic Cross is because it covers both "what is and what needs to be" in one spread. As a festival reader I need to know the backstory very quickly. The Foundation card and the Past card give me an idea of what happened and how we got here. The rest of the cross lets me know what is currently happening and how the querent is thinking about it, while the staff gives me the path forward - or "what needs to be." Again, if you set the intention, with good positions AND good, clear questions, you shouldn't have to guess. If the 8 of Cups shows up in the Past position, we know that is not "what needs to be" because it's already happened (if not still in the process). If it shows up in the Future (or what's coming next), it's a pretty clear indication of "what needs to be."
      My good friend Dee (if you've ever watched my Me & Dee series or any of our podcasts) is a big proponent of pulling clarifiers if she doesn't get a clear answer. But it's important that each clarifier has a specific purpose for being pulled. So for example, let's say you are asking if there will be issues with anyone at Thanksgiving and you get the Knight of Swords. Both your brother and your father have that personality and you want to know who this card represents in this reading. You would simply ask "is this card representing my brother?" Or, "is this card my father?" Or, you could pull the Knight out of the spread and lay 1-3 cards on either side of it, with the intention that the left side represents one of them and the right side represents the other. Then allow your intuition to speak to you. You will find that when you trust in what you see in your head, your readings will become so much more clear. Hope that helps. Lynn 💖💖

    • @askdevinecentral
      @askdevinecentral  2 месяца назад +3

      Hello Astrid, thanks so much for watching this video, and for presenting a very good question. Before I give you my interpretation, I want you to think about your keywords or key phrases for these cards, and pair them with these positions. Because I don't use reversals, I like to have at least one "shadow" or downside position in my spreads. Thus, in this case, what can you do to sabotage your situation? Think about your King of Pentacles. What does he conjure up for you? How could that otherwise good trait be turned into something not so great? Now do the same with the Magician. What does he mean to you? How can you apply that meaning to something out of your control? (...try that before reading on...)
      If I had to come up with something short and sweet for the King, I'd say safety and security. If I knew the context of the situation, I would probably add success and financial security. So depending on Card #5 (What's on your mind?) I would say that letting your insecurities about the situation "rule". Or, don't let family obligations hinder your ability to move forward. Does that make sense? My main keyword for the magician is "initiate". This is an action card. This is a 'thinking on your feet' card. It's starting something and having the confidence to carry it through. As for the magician landing in Card #8 (The environment over which you have no control), I would say that things will be moving forward with or without you, and if you want a say in how that affects you, then you'd better figure out how to become a part of it. These, of course, are just one way of looking at it. Context could easily take the interpretation in a different direction. Just food for thought. Thanks again for watching! Please come back. I plan to do more on the Celtic Cross. Lynn 💖💖

      @@astridalgra8470 So glad you figured it out! This is why I truly believe you need to make the positions your own. They need to make sense if you want the cards that land there to make sense. Also, I truly believe the message is there no matter how confusing the cards seem. That's why it's important to take the time to study them. Walk away if you have to and come back to them. Why not? Have you tried? A card is read in context to the position - in a positional spread. So if a particular angel card shows up in the past (where the energy lingers, but is leaving) how does it combine with that card? I don't read angel or oracle cards , only Tarot and Lenormand, and now crystals. So I wouldn't be the one to ask. However, if you can make sense of it, then you can do it. Lynn XXOO
